Air travel is definitely safer these days, but the romance has dissipated.
Partially due to the huge popularity of the Indian Jones movies, the Safari /1940s look had a big moment in the 1980s. You could buy anything from a Safari dress, Bush Vest, “Save the Tiger” belt, Amelia Earhart jacket, and straw hats from Australia. It made you want to grab your passport!
