ARCHITECTURE
Realized drawings from the studio of John Maniscalco Architecture emerge onto the cityscape each year, dotting San Francisco’s famed hills and signaling a path forward in city’s rich architectural heritage. Informed by the Bay Area modernist traditions of architect’s Gardner Dailey, William Wurster, and Joseph Escherick, Mr. Maniscalco’s work pushes forward, developing an important body of work that captures the zeitgeist of San Francisco as an emerging global capital. A legacy in the making, one born of a client’s dream and an architect’s guiding hand, 150 Glenbrook Avenue presents a rare opportunity to join a select group of homeowners who, through their passion for design and craft, are creating a historic architectural moment to be valued for decades to come.
INTERIOR DESIGN
The marriage of interiors and art is the philosophical soul for interior designer Sean Leffers. He strives to create “therapeutic sanctuaries” for homeowners and their collections alike. Grand interior spaces allow for large scale art to quietly coexist with contemporary architectural elements. Leffers early career start at publishing house Taschen instilled a love of books, one that can be found in deep case shelving throughout the home. This design element carries into the public rooms where collections of decorative art and personal effects are displayed.
Luxurious materials accent the home creating a curated ambience of elegant bohemia. Upon entering the home, a three-story cable lighting suspension with hand-made grey glass crystals casts shadows along the staircase’s Tottos cut travertine wall. Rich selections of polished Calcutta Oro marble, Faungone linen stone, and Ann Sacks tile elevate the interior look. A David Groupi “globe” light captures a visual focal point in the main living room. Each room is a wonderful discovery of its own and a singular experience of light, texture, and passion.
